NORTHEASTERN CHURCH CUB SCOUT TROOP FORMING

The National Capital Area Council Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has issued a charter to organize a BSA Cub Scout Pack at Northeastern Presbyterian Church.  Church member Joseph Witherspoon, BSA Commissioner, has been instrumental in the planning to set the stage for restoration of a once vibrant scouting program at the church.  Glenn Grier is slated to become Cub Scoutmaster, Charles Webb as Assistant Scoutmaster and Frank Enty as the chartered organization’s representative.  Cub Scout packs serve boys who are in first through fifth grade (or 7 through 10 years of age).  Boys, families, leaders, and chartered organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting: Character Development; Spiritual Growth; Good Citizenship; Sportsmanship; Family Understanding; Respectful Relationships; Personal Achievements; Friendly Service; Fun and Adventure; and Preparation for Boy Scouts.  Recruitment efforts are underway to form the Cub Pack this Fall and parents and grandparents are urged to contact Northeastern Church (202/526-1730) and leave a call back number for follow-up.  Cub Scouting is uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents.  Cub scouting meets these needs through offering fun and challenging experiences that boys and parents do together.  Young boys grow up fast.  Give your son or grandson a valuable gift by encouraging him to join Cub Scouting at Northeastern Church.  The time that he invests today will make a difference in the person he becomes tomorrow.  Call the church today (202/526-1730) to initiate a life changing experience.
